Registration Details

Who: Any 9th-12th grade educator wanting to revolutionize their teaching and bring a 3D printer into their classroom.

Registration opens April 1st for educators outside of Minnesota.

Cost: $400 registration fee represents a significant saving on the program’s value of over $1,000.

Required Equipment: Participants must bring their own laptop with the needed software preloaded. See System Requirement section. Instructions will be sent to participants prior to the training.

Curriculum Overview

Structured into four quarters, the Siemens Engineering Design course offers flexibility for full-year or semester scheduling, meeting various educational standards including NGSS, CTS, NRC Framework, and Common Core Standards. This pathway paves the way for students to earn undergraduate credits at affiliated colleges and universities. Learn more about the Siemens Engineering Design Curriculum.

Led by experienced Siemens master teachers, this program enriches educators and provides schools with cost-free resources, including the curriculum itself and CAD software used for 3D modeling. Aligned with industry and educational standards, the curriculum covers:

  • Engineering Design Process
  • Iterative problem-solving
  • Technical communication
  • Teamwork
  • Quantitative planning
  • Resource evaluation
  • Practical insights into sketching, 3D modeling, reverse engineering, and green design principles.

Supported by Siemens Corporation, a global technology leader, this initiative represents a significant investment in advancing STEM education and ensuring schools have access to valuable, no-cost resources. This is the first of four courses in the Siemens Engineering Pathway Curriculum which teaches the demands needed to meet Industry 4.0.
